J Carpenter / Rugged
Rugged, an installation, represents domestic interior flooring, superimposed on 14th Street. Pedestrians walking this "runway" are reminded of common efforts to become model family members and friends. At construction sites, this orange color ensures that we give attention to street work so that we neither disrupt the projects nor put ourselves in danger. In Rugged, the color portrays home life as a crucial work in progress that demands our attention.

Date:

Monday-Wednesday, October 8-10, and Friday, October 12 from 4-7pm

Location:

The piece will be installed at the southeast corner of 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, extending east along the sidewalk.
