This performance explores the unrealistic expectations that mass media imposes on the female body. The performance will occur daily down 14th Street in a physically restrictive garment adorned with imagery and texts pulled from popular women’s magazines.

Callie Wile’s work is centered around the idea of self, the female body and mass media. She inserts herself, quite literally, into her work, playing the roles of artist and art object. Callie’s work manifests itself in the form of photography, collage, sculpture and performance.
