Pelar el Ojo is a community installation in response to global warming. Passersby are invited to participate in placing 100 ceramic eyes (with velcro) onto a tree. Talk, laugh, and create memories.

Esperanza Cortes’s interest in the folk art traditions and ritualistic art of the Americas and Africa are at the core of her work. Esperanza’s artwork is about individual and collective memory and implements the human body as a symbol and expression of nature, vulnerability and power.
