Virginia Dan / Let Them Eat Lobster
This performance features an empress dressed in full royal regalia enjoying a freshly cooked lobster as she walks freely among the commoners. Attached to her torso is a gilded portable dining table with all the tools for enjoying a lobster in a civilized manner. As she delights in her meal, she spreads words of wisdom to the common folk about how to succeed in love, life, and wealth.

Virginia Dan spent a lifetime absorbing the ironies of the San Gabriel Valley, then found herself with BFA from the USC Roski School of Fine Arts. She currently resides in Los Angeles where she explores grotesque humor and childish nostalgia in her drawings, costumes, and art performances.
