Rafael T. Melendez studied in San Francisco Art Institute's prestigious New Genres department and is a long-time New Yorker. He works across painting, drawing and collage in the development of art that delves into sexuality as celebrity. Melendez challenges art historical language by condensing it into gossip and forms fashion systems for the new beings that populate his visual landscape.
